Our Cape York Trail Bike Tours
Fair Dinkum Bike Tours is a locally owned and operated company that use local guides to give you the best local knowledge and the best trip of a lifetime. David Williams has traveled all over Cape York via 4x4 and motorcycle as a keen fisherman and being a Cairns local for 30 years, has many friends who have granted exclusive private property access.
Inclusions Our tours include fishing and riding areas that not many people have the opportunity to visit. All motorcycle adventure tours include:
A $1000 bond is payable that will be refunded upon safe return of the motorcycle. Riders must have a current motorcycle licence and motorcycles must be registered. Riders are responsible for their own accident insurance and sign a indemnity agreement before the start of a tour.
What To Bring We recommend that you bring and wear appropriate motorcycle gear at all times.
For comfort and assured fit, if you have your own gear please bring it. If not we can supply nylons, boots, helmet, gloves, body armour and goggles. The crew use the support truck take care of delivering all your personal items, food and drink direct to each resting point enabling you to ride free with only a small day pack containing personal items:
Remember you are in riding gear all day so few other clothes are needed (and there are washing facilities along the way). Space is limited, so please keep it to a small sports bag size (maximum 45cm square). No Gear Bags Allowed. If in doubt leave it out, but you should bring along:

Far North Queensland and Cape York With an area of around 13.5 million hectares, the Cape York Peninsula has a lot to offer. It is one of the last great frontiers - certainly somewhere to forget the daily hustle and bustle of city life. Magically, it feels like your the only person to have ventured here. The many streams and rivers of Cape York have been disturbed only minimally by human activity and contain a variety of freshwater fish species. The northern rivers have excellent Barramundi fishing - something you will experience as part of our adventure - providing both the experienced and novice angler a chance to land the big one.
For the motorcycle enthusiast, Cape York offers every type of terrain you could find in Australia (except for snow) and presents the rider with an unforgettable Australian remote wilderness adventure. Crocodiles, kangaroos, wild pigs, dingoes and native bird life are all part of the Cape York experience. This really is "Australia at its best"!
Our Bikes All our hire bikes are purchased at the beginning of every year so are current models with our modifications to suit the conditions. Our current bikes are Suzuki DRZ 400 models fitted with electric start, Quality bars and Bark Busters. All bikes are fastidiously maintained and replaced annually so you always have the latest models.
All prices quoted include motorcycle hire. There is also a $1000 cash bond for the hire bikes that will be refunded upon safe return of the bike. Want to bring your own bike? No problem! Please contact us for more details. Please Note: Whether you bring your own bike, or ride one of ours, all riders must sign an indemnity form before the tour commences.
Support Truck - non-riders can come too! Non-riders are well looked after in our a brand new custom-built 4WD Mitsubishi Canto support truck. Up to 5 passengers riding in the comfort of the support vehicle can come along and experience the 8 Day Cape York tour with the added bonus of mixing with the trail bike riders along the way. If you aren't one for dirt bikes, come along for the magical adventure in style - sit up front in the truck as the riders go bush. It's an experience that offers everyone the chance to be part of the dirt bike adventure whilst sitting in comfort.
Non-riders are accommodated and catered for as part of the experience, visit the outback, camp out and we then fly them back from Cape York back to Cairns at the completion of the tour. Trailzone Magazine did an article about the support truck - read what they had to say about it.
Cost per person is AUD$1850. The only extra expense is paying for your own refreshments. Any enquires please contact us.
Bookings A holding deposit of 20% is required for all bookings. Balance of cost is to be paid prior to departure of tour. We have a cancellation policy.
